Why safety inspections.
In the Satate of Hawaii, taking your car in for a mandatory vehicle inspection is a yearly ritual. Its purpose isn’t just another hoop to jump through. It’s important and intended to be a way for the DMV to ensure that your car is safe to be on the road.

Items Checked During Inspection
- Vehicle documents are in order
- Turn signals work properly
- Brake lamp lens are intact
- Vehicle does not have any stickers on any of the windows
- Front/rear license plates on vehicle
- All brake lamps are working
- Vehicle’s horn is working
- Tire tread depths at least 2/32″
- Vehicle is free odors / parasites
- Instrument panel functional
- Seat belts in working condition
- Handles, windows & locks work
- Windshield is not cracked or chipped
- Window tinting not too dark
- Convertible tops working
